I have always enjoyed Fred and Ginger's dancing partnership but it's a shame when biographical films don't portray the original story (warts and all) and sanitised versions colour them unrecognisable from real life (not just this one, I mean overall). Just my

Yes indeed - some changes in biographical films can be excused for the purposes of condensing a story into a couple of hours, but there should be no excuse for changes that literally colour the story unrecognisable from real life...
