An amazing discovery - it seems that there's a bit of Pennsylvania Jimi X hasn't written about yet!

And a bit more seriously: I just came back about a month ago from my second summer as a camp counsellor in the area, and thought I should try and write a guide entry. Since this is the first time I write about a place I don't know that well (my other entries so far were a bit closer to home) I'd appreciate any feedback.

Would it be possible to have footnotes briefly explaining summer camps and camp counsellors for the non-American readers? I'm not saying most folk haven't heard of them but they're not as common around the globe as in the USA.

Also noticed a spelling: privet = private (unless you were commenting on the sign-writers' inability to spell?).

I will have another read through later. Don't know whether writing it for a certain group of people will please everyone; although I can see why you've done so, given that that was your experience of the place.

Of course it's 'private'! Stupid spell-checker... Will be fixed right away.

As for the other stuff - like I said, I only know the place from a very specific perspective, so that's a bit of a problem I guess. I did include some history and such, tried not to make it too much a camp-staff-guide... I suppose I could try and rewrite some of it to make it more 'general'. Any pointers?

This is a nice look at a fun-sounding little town.

Of course, you might want to link to A481682 - General 'Mad' Anthony Wayne, the county's namesake. And I've got an entry pending on the political structure of Pennsylvania that will explain the bit about towns and boroughs if you want to link to that (A2960561 - A Short Guide to Pennsylvania's Local Political Structure).

I might remove some of the references to being a camp counselor if only because they seem a bit odd where they crop up and aren't really necessary unless you are writing an entry called 'Honesdale, PA - a camp counselor's perspective'.

But like I said, this was a nice little entry and I'm sure it'll be EG-bound before too long.

Ooh, a compliment from the master! (seriously, when I was looking for PA entries to refer to it seemed all of them were yours... I kinda felt like an intruder)

Thanks for the links, I'll certainly add them - is it okay to refer to an entry that's still pending, though?

And as for the camp stuff, I suppose you're right, it's a shame to narrow this down to just a certain group of people. I think I can rewrite most of it out, I'll get to work on that soon.

I had a reference to an Entry that was still pending in one of my Entries - by the time mine got sent to the sub-Ed the other was in the EG so it was OK.

You could maybe link to them on the proviso that if they don't make it into the EG before yours, you remove them again.

That's what I think, anyhow!
