I hope so too - it is a very fine entry. smiley - ok

I would suggest changing the title to something like 'Emily Dickinson - the Poet', since that's the h2g2 house style and not everyone will have heard of her. I was also a bit puzzled by the oddly-phrased bit about '...a woman who she was, it is debated, sexually attracted to...'. I think I know what you mean, but who exactly is debating this question? Finally, a brief explanation of who Judith Farr is, and where that quote you've used comes from, might be in order.

Those nitpicks aside, very good work! smiley - smiley

Though my barbarian upbringing precludes any hope of my appreciating poetry, this was a nice entry.

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman

I like dthis article very much . I like Dickinson's work even though she is, to put it mildly, eccentric.
Wendy Cope made me chuckle when she wrote:
'Higgledy-Piggledy
Emily Dickinson
Liked to use dashes
Instead of full stops.
Nowadays, faced with such
Idiosyncrasies
Readers and editors
Call for the cops.'

I have the authentic Dickinson at home, with all the dashes in. I think it was published by Faber and had an introduction by Ted Hughes. How she managed to write so much about love without indulging in it much at first hand shows that, at the very least, she had a vivid imagination.

h2g2 auto-messages

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

nice one! that was painless! I'd actually completely forgotten I'd put this into peer review until today! smiley - yikessmiley - silly

Judy Farr wrote one of the books cited in the bibliography. Since i only really edited the entry I can't say much more about her than that.
