Oh, and I added some links, but I'm not sure about linking to a german language site? Is it wise to do that? Advice concerning that would be great

This is a lovely entry! Thanks for rescuing it.
I don't know about linking to a German language site. I can't see a problem with it myself.
There are a few spelling mistakes and grammar points. It may look like a lot but should only take you five minutes to fix up:
more then eight hundred years old --> more than eight hundred years old
which is close to the river Main and --> which is close to the river Main, and
It might not look appear very nice --> It might not look very nice
The work of medieval artist Tilman Riemenschneider, can be found -->

three of his wooden sculptures on display --> three of his wooden sculptures are on display
If you have a closer look towards the roof --> If you take a close look at the roof
Like this, the inhabitants know --> From this, the inhabitants know
It is as popular with the people of Karlstadt --> It is popular with the people of Karlstadt
The walk towards this site --> The walk to this site
Apart from site-seeing --> Apart from sight-seeing
The choice of food and drink is good, the town -->
The choice of food and drink is good; the town
centered --> centred
do as the romans do --> do as the Romans do
The small theatre in the Gerbergasse, has performances -->

Accomodation --> Accommodation
and enjoys popularity with --> and is popular with
(b. 1604 - d. 1670) --> (1604 - 1670)
(b.?1480 - d. 1541) --> (1480? - 1541)
german language site --> German language site
800-years-anniversary --> 800-year-anniversary
also offers accomodation --> also offers accommodation
Once those are out of the way, this shouldn't have many problems going through Peer Review.

Thanks a lot G. You're a gem I'll fix up those asap.
As for the german language site, you can get it translated if you pump it through Google...perhaps I can suggest that too??
Thanks again.

Don't make a big deal about the site being in German. Many of the people going to a German city will at least understand that people in Germany speak German.

Good one
I really like this and have only one comment, about the number of times that "nice" crops up. Any chance of some other word? I am particularly picky about it, having been to a school where we weren't allowed to use "nice" in any of our essays
Come to think of it, we weren't allowed to use "got" or "a lot" either. But you're okay on those two

You're right, they're were a few repetitive - uh, are they adjectives? (never could get the hang of english grammar) in the original, I'll have a squizz and see what I can weed out. Cheers FB

Okay, have taken out the overabundant 'nice' and used my thesaurus to its greatest potential
Hope it reads nicer now

Just thought I'd bump this up again as I've fine-tooth combed it and fiddled about in GuideML and added some links that actually work now

Hi MJ,
Great Fleamarket rescue !
I wondered whether
'the legend says that a Swedish soldier was forgotten in Karlstadt...'
might be clearer to readers if it said:
the legend says that a Swedish soldier was left behind in Karlstadt...
or
the legend says that a Swedish soldier was forgotten and left behind in Karlstadt...
It took me a couple of times to understand what you meant - that's not to say others wouldn't get it straight off! Up to you.
Also, this sentence:
'There are sometimes even tours through the hills offered by locals during this time of year.'
sounds a bit clunky somehow. Maybe it could be inverted slightly to:
'Sometimes there are even tours through the hills offered by locals during this time of year.'
Small little nitpicks though. Good stuff

A week and I've looked again and freshened this up a little more. If there's no more suggestions I'll let this mature.
