I'm not really here

This is not a very good idea, we are trying to build a friendly community and worthwhile guide here and this is not helpful.

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

That's exactly right. Don't you think that being cynical about things and posting nonsense is rather a waste of time? It merely serves to make other people cynical about the level of intelligence of someone who has devoted their time to something so counterproductive. There is nothing wrong with raising challenging questions about aspects of the h2g2 community or life in general that you may not be happy about; but there is very little point in simply posting nonsense.

There are all sorts of things you could start a guild or club about. At this very moment, there are 76,864 h2g2 Researchers out there with an almost limitless range of interests. I think you'll find that it is quite easy to start a group of friends, if you pick a topic that is meaningful.smiley - smiley

You can be intelligent and helpful if you want.

This Guild is not about actual cynisism, it is about add ing the words "the cynic" to your name.

I am a little concerned that starting a group that encourages people to post nonsense is not really very sociable. You probably hadn't intended to start something that could be disruptive. But some people might choose to see it that way, and use your Guild to make a nuisance of themselves.

I've got nothing against cynicism, as such. But being cynical shouldn't involve pestering people, which is what your call for members seems to imply.
