I suspect it's connected to your use of unusual characters, like greater-than and less-than, in the drawing.
Instead of < you should write its code: <
For > use >
Because these are used in GuideML tags, they're stuffing things up.
And your unicorn looks squashed because multiple spaces have been collapsed into single spaces by the previewer, if you get the code to work it should show up properly.
