Hi there, thanks for the "greetings". Sorry I haven't replied before but I just haven't got around to logging back in before now. To be honest I wasn't expecting anybody to have contacted me yet because I haven't posted anything or entered any conversations. How did you find my page/name? And what's behind your long name, or should I not ask that kind of question? Well thanks again for the welcome.

I'm a Guardian Angel, and as such we meet the new researchers and try and ease them into the wonderful world of h2g2. There is actually a site we can go to to discover which of the newbies have put a little intro on their page and enable us to say hello. It seems that most people wait about 2 week before returning, as recently I have had some people saying 'sorry its taken so long to reply...' Thats one of the good things about this place, it doesnt all have to be instantaneous due to people being all of the universse with its many different time-zones...

You are likely to get a few welcoming messages.. the official one by the ACEs, and the unofficial one by the GAs or by people just wanting to say hello. and it all happens as soon as you leave a little welcoming message on your page.

Fashion Cat = an online name I've always had...
(rejoicing at the revival of Archangel Zax) = this is more complicated. and very messy into the bargain. Arch Zax was the GA who came to greet me, and I stayed in contact with him, often talking more on ICQ than on h2g2. Unfortunately, the politics on h2g2 (a very messy affair to get itno) has wound its way to attacking the GAs. This has upset all of us, especially Zax, as he was the 1st GA and has put a lot into this place. as such he decided to leave, but thankfully returned for a while. It seems that since yesterday things have taken another turn for the worse and he's left again, probably for good. (yup, another name change is on its way... )

but then again, a newbie shouldnt be bothered with things like that. sorry. it helped me to just say it though. *sigh*

ok. you should start jumping head first into h2g2, there is so much on here....

Hello once again, thank you for answering my (quite personal at times) questions. I hope the political problems at h2g2 sort themselves out soon, we have enough problems with politics out in the real world!
As I said, I hope to be able to visit h2g2 more often, although I don't get a lot of free time to surf (is this term still used or am i way behind the times?).
I have replied to a posting I found on the Title screen (Depeche Mode) so I have made a start.

and I'm not a huge fan of Blackadder, i do like it but not a massive addict.... i just met Baldy online in the swimming pool and he asked if i wanted to be his VP... Demon Drawer (a really good friend IRL as well) asked me just after i'd said yes to Baldy.... eek!

and its good to see you've started the long road into h2g2... dont worry about not being online much, many conversations occur over a few days because people arent online....
