Change:
'Hamilton was a member of the Protestant upper class of Ireland'
to:
'Hamilton was a member of the Ireland's professional class'
I've been told he wasn't strictly upper class because he wasn't nobility, and 'Protestant upper middle class' sounds very unwieldy.
