It currently breaks each time the QotD is updated for reasons that are incredibly tedious

Nope, it's mine 
The tool that allows us to update the front page doesn't accommodate for linking to threads (yet), only entries. So I have to manually pop back in and change it each time it's updated at the moment

Hey! It's the Editors that update the Front Page. I just send them a list of Quotes to put up there. I have no powers to edit the Front Page myself.
Other than that, yes, it's probably my fault.
