... you're moving threads for being in the wrong format... but the collaborative WW page never suggested that there was a specific format... is this deliberate? smiley - erm

This will probably be sorted in the next release when all the editorial procedures are sorted out.

I think it'd be a shame if the collaborative WW was forced to only accept submissions with an entry - often people write the thread there before they write the entry... but maybe it's necessary in the new system.. smiley - shrug

You're right about the format and the CWW, but there were only a couple of threads in the 'wrong' format, so it's not a big problem, hopefully.

The rationale is the migration to the new Review Forums system. Only entries can be put into Review Forums, so yes, this does mean that CWW ideas do need some kind of entry, even if it's a skeleton, but we hope that this will encourage development of said entry. To migrate to the new system, we've written an XSLT script that takes the titles of Conversations in the current Review Forums, pulls out the A123456 number, and then inserts that entry into the new Review Forum system, while retaining all the discussions etc.

To make this easier, we've been through all the Review Forums to remove entries that are duplicated between Forums (eg ones that are in both PR and WW, for example) - obviously an entry should only be in one Review Forum. We've also been renaming Conversations that are in the wrong format (ie don't start with A123456), and now the Review Forums are ready to migrate to the new system when we set an upgrade date. (We'll have to fix any problems that crop up between now and when we close the site down for the upgrade, but there hopefully won't be any.)

If we've got anything wrong, please let us know - it's all being 'cleaned up' manually, and it's not the easiest thing to work with.
