Alabaster. Does it actually work? I've just seen several people online, who haven't posted in many years, including Douglas Adams himself.

Perhaps there's a bug?

Hi, Peta. It's nice to see you on the site.

Unfortunately, viewing a personal space triggers the online eyes for the owner of that space. It's on our list of documented bugs.

It's been a bug for a very long time, possibly since Natalie's stewardship. Sam's certainly.

Looking at the code it seems to have started not long after the single sign-on was brought in. The flag to say someone's on line is set when their homepage is visited, and someone thought that seeing as they go there after signing in that'd be okay. Which doesn't work.

So, I'm afraid that the only way really to see who's on line is to look at the front page of Pliny and see who's talking in the forums.

Hiya by the way smiley - winkeye

You've missed a trick here, Pastey - it's a one-line code change.

Replace the characters "Online Now" with "Someone's just viewed my Personal Space"
