Internet = Waste of Time?

Is the Internet a waste of time? Why am I here? (no that's not a question of the meaning of life, but why am I "on the internet"?) Am I subconsciously pouring useless info into my brain? When you think about all human activities, they really are just a waste of time. Everyone is losing time at a constant rate. Time is passing while I am writing this. Will I ever get it back? Where does it go? Does time disappear to the place with all those pens that you keep losing? Maybe there's an alternate universe just devouring misplaced pens and peoples wasted time? I think tomorrow I will search the stationary cupboard at work for extra time....
