Aparently there are hoards of colour blind people that have formed their own community under the escalators of the underground system...

There is a black and white map that can be used by colour blind people - some of the older A to Zs have it on the back.
The lines are patterned rather than coloured.
Most totally colour blind people can distinguish colour through it's 'brightness' and should be able to cope with the tube map as it is.

The company I used to work for were involved with the Jubilee Line Extension. The senior engineer on which was red/green colour blind, and aparently that caused all kinds of problems!
