h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I will be departing the fair land of Wisconsin in nigh upon 2 weeks. I head for the promised land of California. I will be moving to Simi Valley, to be specific. Simi Valley is about halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

My girlfriend moved there in May to begin work at Amgen, a large biotechnology company. I stayed around here until I found a job in the area. I found one, so off I go!

I'm pretty excited, although I'm embarking on a journey that is significant for many reasons. First of all, I've always lived in the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin) despite all my attempts to escape! Secondly, we bought a townhouse out there, so I'm a little nervous about actually owning something that's worth anything. Actually its very thrilling to own a house and I'm really looking forward to it.

If you have anything to suggest I try in the Ventura County area, don't hesitate to let me know! Restaurants, parks, scenic spots, trails, anything would be new to me.
