Yeah, I finally went to a after that post. He put me on antibiotics, stole my blood, and gagged me with a large cotton swab. Tomorrow they should be telling me whether or not it's mono. They think it is.

I'd already seen a once before the relapse, and he put me on antibiotics for three days. A week and a half later, the sore throat/etc was back and worse than before. Today's my 5th day of antibiotics (different kind this time) and if they find out it's mono, I get five more days.

Fun.

Though I do feel MUCH better after the meds. Thank the gods!

When I took my daughter to the doctor, he gave her a prescription for antibiotics and steroids and said to only get the antibiotics one filled until the results of the blood test came back.

When the test came back positive for mono, he said to stop the antibiotics and take the 7 day course of steroids. The steroids started working within 6 hours to reduce the swelling in her throat, which was so bad she could hardly swallow.

Well, the says it's not mono. Fabulous. I'm just waiting for the news that I've contracted some rare disease no one has ever heard of or knows how to cure.
