What is it with me and non-word titles?
Ugh.
It seems like the longer I live, the more exhausted I get.
Anyone know anything about insomnia cures?
*sigh*

Bleurgh is a word. Perhaps not yet recognized as such, but I'm pretty sure it counts.
Insomnia cures... Hmmm... You could try GABA. You can get it at any health food store. Beyond that, you can do what I did Friday: work a 17 hour shift. (Well, 16.5 but who's counting.) I think I'll be sleeping for a good long time once I get the chance.

Insomnia cure: Keep both sides of the brain busy. The left side of the brain is analytic, so doing some repetitive, simple but not too simple math problem works. Like start at 100, then subtract 10 and add 5 until you get down to zero. If you're good at math, make it more complex like subtract 9 and add 7 (but that would keep me awake, I'd have to concentrate too hard). The right side of the brain is visual, so while doing the math you have to picture something as concretely as possible, whatever works for you. I imagine the numbers spelled out in giant cloud letters, drifting in one direction when I subtract and drifting in the other direction when I add. You really have to focus on doing both with all your attention. If you manage to get to zero, start over. If you manage to get to zero three times, get out of bed because you just are not tired enough to fall asleep.
The other thing that works for me is my ipod on the lowest possible setting, but the music has to be exactly right. Lately, Frank Zappa puts me under in a few seconds, I can't figure out why. He just does.
