Fewer and fewer people who live in Johannesburg refer to the city as Jo'burg these days. The true South African pronunciation is, of course, 'Janiceburg' (from J'annesburg) but these days, the name Josi is being used. The African name Egoli (Place of gold) is also seeing much use, of late. 
Perhaps this is because most of those people who used to call the city 'Jo'burg' are now residing in Perth, Sydney, Auckland, Toronto, Seattle or other receptive retreat for Sowfaffricans!
