Yeah yeah, so the special effects were non-existent, the storylines twisted, but who cares. It's a great series. I like the first and second Doctors because they get some really weird (and a bit sick in places) stories.

About your comment about Doctor Who having all those things and yet enjoyable to watch, I tend to agree with you. What the universal appeal wasn't the effects, because otherwise the program would have died back in the 1960's in the UK only. I got into back in 1981 when it premiered my local PBS station and it took me THREE years to realize that it had "bad" special effects. I got into the plot line, which was quite good writing.
