I know I've been gone for a while - but to have no recent postings, or any convos on my page... Makes me a bit sad. So here h2g2, posting 1!

So how are the Western Isles? Are you enjoying the Sundays?

There's no way I'll lose my friends hon, even though mostly I dont deserve you all!

Z - I'm still at home, moving back in with mum and Dad at the mo so I can save money for a deposit for a little place of my own. I work in Glasgow, but have just got back from a small tour - 5 islands, 6 ports, 17 days from home! Its great fun, and the people on the islands are so interesting once you've convinced them that you dont actually work for the ferry company and cant do anything about the service provided! I even bought a pint for an ex-Scotland Rugby Captain on Coll which I was pretty thrilled about Some of the stories they tell though make me glad I am where I am. I'd love to be remote from civilisation, but I would never move to an island. If I change my mind in the future someone please shoot me!

Most places dont have any police around, so its all dealt with by the islanders themselves. And my car broke down half way round Mull (accelerator cable bust!) and I was subjected to 'Islander Mechanics'. the pulled the cable out, tied it to a bit of string and I controlled the accelerator from the passenger seat. Very bizarre! It makes me so grateful that I can just call the AA if I get stuck somewhere and a nice yellow van will come and rescue me. I missed the yellow van on Coll!
