But yeah, people still like the cure.
I now live in the US where the cure are still fairly popular with the college aged crowd. I dont meet too many who would consider themselves as big a fan as me, but they're out there.
One band has recently actually gotten me to listen to the cure LESS which is sad, as the two bands sound nothing alike.
Are you familiar with Alkaline trio? (Vagrant records)
