Hey Mad Steve!
Welcome to h2g2!
I just thought I'd drop by and say hello and see if you need anything... I've only been here a couple of weeks myself, but I've gotten amazingly involved here in that amount of time, and I'd be happy to give you some tips or show you around.
Feel free to visit my home by clicking on my name above, or post a reply here and I'll get it.
There are a lot of great forums to join in depending on your interests, as well as useful places to help you write entries or find your way around. I've started to put together a list of places that were helpful to me http://www.h2g2.com/A344756
I also noticed that you posted a message on one of the forum threads at the newcomers page, but it was the thread for last week's newcomers. You might want to check out the one that's called something like Newcomers w/c 29 May 2000, which is this week's discussion. Or, just join in some other discussions.
Again, welcome, and let me know if I can help you with anything.
Redbeard.

Yes, I have now found out that I posted on the wrong page. It wasn't my fault REALLY
I was sent there from a link in the intro guide.

No big deal... Since it was the week that I arrived, I saw your message and ended up finding you to say Hi
Since forum threads keep changing, it's hard to keep current links to the right thread. Part of it is that new threads get started to keep them from being too long. For instance, at the Aroma Café where I hang out a lot http://www.h2g2.com/A202924 the threads fill up so fast, that they start a new one every other day or so, so they'll just start a new one and number them.
