Attention Deficit Syndrome

Oh, Sho, don't feel guilty about anything From what I see of you around here you do not come anywhere close to an 'uninterested parent' or anysuch similar thing.
And before I go and leave you in peace ('cos I sense you've had enough of all this for now) - re the bilingual thing - they jolly well should be making allowances! Crumbs, even the UK does that!!

you're very nice to say so.
And I'm not sick of all this - just in one of those wild eyed panicky moments that my Gruesome will not get to be the rocket scientist she wants to be (this week, last week it was a hairdresser and the week before a firefighter) because she will be stuck in the 2nd grade for ever.
I do really appreciate everyone's input here while I whine and moan about what is, in the grand scheme, a very minor hiccough.

"I think, Sho, or at least I know here in the UK, if you haven't got a 'label' you don't get any help anymore."
Like you get any if you have a label. The only value in a statement in most counties is that the Government nod and hum and haw and say 'yes, that child does need six hours a week; you'd best to magically produce an SNA, possibly from some form of hat'.
Oh, and SENCO is Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Sho; everything's acronyms these days.

It'll take about 10 years for them to think up an equivalent in Germany. And a further five to decide if there's funding for it. By which time Sho's gruesomes will be almost mothers themselves, and possibly be able to make use of their co-ordinator.

Thanks Mr.P.
I shudder to think what the German acronym for such a person would be.
I'll have a chat with my childminder. But... she is one of those "know it all" types - and I react badly to those. So I'll play it by ear.
