Well..... OK really, but then I've been here so long I can't remember what anything else is like. Supermarkets are yukky, no such thing as customer service, TV is DIRE, veggie food (for I'm a veggie too) is virtually non-existant, beer is good, the natives are sort of friendly (if you have kids, as I do)..... in short, not much different from living anywhere else. Except when England play Germany at football. Then (with the exception of last week ) everything is pants.
You should come for a visit (I work for the tourist board.... not really)

Hey Paul! Been a long time... you probably don't even remember...
I finally got my Localtel account, and while away the long hours... phoning them up and asking why they haven't connected my line... why I'm being charged for services I never requested... why they never reply...
Bliss! Just like being with BT really...

Urm. Actually I don't sound happy here, do I?? But I suppose I'm as happy as the next person. Happier today now they're all complaining that Michael Schumacher (the chinny one) got pushed out of the Grand Prix.
Actually, I do like it where I live. Small, no miniscule, village near the Dutch boarder (quick escape) and a job which I like. And a husband who stays at home to look after the kids!!!!!
I haven't looked at your page yet, so where are you? Are you happy there?
The German telephone system-thing is great at the moment price-wise. You do that Call-by-Call thing (where you choose which company to use). They're all cheap and you can usually get a line. Because it looked (from Monsieur Pegasus' message) that you'd been having a set-to with Telecom.

Madamoiselle (sp?) if you don't mind!
I have free internet access all weekend, and 6pm to 8am weekdays, but only when they actually manage to connect my line (after house-move).
I try to use up every minute of it...

Oh, sorry. How was the house move? Not too stressful I I hope.
I wish I had enough time not to use up every minute of my free (not) internet access!!

My page is not really worth visiting, I am in a small town called Wickford, Essex. It is ok here. and I am happy most of the time.
No I didn't have a set to with BT. Pegasus is talking about advice I gave to everyone who visited h2g2 about a year ago reguarding a new telephone company that offered free connection to the internet, He must of had some problems with the change from BT to the company that supplies the free internet connection, but reading between the lines I reckon he sorted it out.

Order Order!
Think yourselves lucky you even get the offer of free internet. sigh. Anyway, what would you do with the time you spend phoning and phoning to your ISP? Get bored, that's what. And we wouldn't want that, would we (you can just tell I'm a mummy, can't you?)

Oh you cheeky pup! *wags index finger* Go straight to your room!!
Actually, I'm a big fan of Egyptian PT...

Sho - employed again! Posted Jul 21, 2000
I have been a civilian so long now that I forget sometimes which expressions are Army slang and which ones aren't.
So, PT is Physical Training. Egyptian PT is usually (but not always) carried out on a flat, soft, surface, in a horizontal position with eyes closed. I always preferred that to getting up at rediculous o'clock and running around with a tree stuck in my tin hat and carrying (along with 5 other idiots) a big log.

Paul the Brake Posted Jul 23, 2000
Sounds good to me too, A horizontal position on a soft surface with eyes closed sounds like a great way to exercise, Where can I sign up for the Eqyptian Army.
Ooh really?
Sho - employed again! Posted Jul 24, 2000
But you know in the Egyptian Army they only do English PT (which involves getting up at Ohmygodit'searlyo'clock and dressing like a tree and running around with a log.... sounds familiar?)
Actually, now I don't have to do it anymore I can see the funny side of it all. Maybe one day I'll write a book (or Guide Entry) on my experiences. Only I was in Military Intelligence, so if you read it I'll have to kill you...... and now I have kids even the Egyptian PT has fallen by the wayside...
