Hi there, Great Unknown,
Welcome to h2g2! I've noticed a number of new researchers from Germany today... Douglas Adams must have had an article published there or something
Couple of the other new researchers I happened to see:
Sly http://www.h2g2.com/U132120
Setrok http://www.h2g2.com/U131951
As far as hints to find your way through h2g2, there's a number of ideas. First, put this fish in your ear There, that ought to help.
If you click on the symbol on the upper left of the page, it'll take you to the main page with lots of good suggestions, scroll down near the bottom on the left for some helpful links for newcomers. On the right side of that page near the bottom, you'll see some of the busiest forums, where you can just hang out and meet people.
I spend a lot of time at the Aroma Cafe
http://www.h2g2.com/A202924
so you might see me there.
When you get to a page like that, look for the forums at the bottom of the page and join in the most recent discussion.
I'm not one of the official greeters... just happened to wander by your page so I thought I'd say Hi. The ACEs will probably stop by to make you feel welcome, or you can visit them at http://www.h2g2.com/A214796 and introduce yourself.
And, of course, you can always click on 'don't panic' if you get overwhelmed.
Feel free to visit me at my home by clicking on my name above, or post a reply here and I'll see it.

Hi Readbeard,
thank you for your information. You're right, there has been an article published in a german newspaper on h2g2, not by Douglas Adams himself, but someone , who must have been a friend of his books, too. See You! The Great Unknown
