Starfish are wonderful creatures, available in so many colours and flavours. They have eyes at the ends of their arms (or rays), no brain, no preferred direction of travel, can turn their stomach inside out and push it through their mouth in order to digest large prey, such as shellfish, and can not only re-grow their rays if they get chopped off, but can sometimes produce an entirely new starfish from the ray that was chopped off. Thus the oyster fishermen who chopped starfish in half in order to stop them devouring all the oysters weren't really doing themselves any favours. Hurray for starfish!
