Dictate to me...

Post 1

Well, today I just got a new toy. It's one of these dictation programmes which prescribes what you say. I'm slowly getting the hand of it, although it is pretty difficult. I frequently have to stop to correct one of its mistakes. But, in general, it's actually pretty good. It's faster than writing by hand, and there is no risk of RSI, which is a good thing. It properly does mean, though, that my own noisy neighbours with my incessant prattling. On the plus side, it is as good a source of amusing words and Freudian slips as any spell checker.

You have a dictation programme...

I installed ViaVoice a couple of years ago, and I got to wondering if we could talk to the animals...

So out came our well loved squeaky penguin (a small blue and white - free with petrol special), and into the headset he was squeaked.

The results are scary - really scary. Try it. Knock yourself clean off the planet. The drive to legalise drugs would crumble overnight. Playstation would tumble from its world dominance of the entertainment market.

What is your alarm clock saying in the morning??

The smoke alarm??

That squaky floorboard in the dining room?

We should find somewhere to post these. Check my page in a few days - i may have done something about it.

Happy dictating.
