Is this not wonderful?
How long did it take you to spot what's wrong with this picture?

I had this one on the wall of my office for years, with the pencilled-in caption, "The Art of Programming"...

Would it be fair to say that, among other things (like dental hygiene), this cartoon makes a profound statement about the difference between men's and women's priorities?

Could be. I'll have to admit, that the cartoon suddenly made me feel more interested in oral hygiene than I ever have been.

I can't remember who it was but an entrant for the Turner prize (Modern Art prize) last year was a woman who's exhibit was an unmade bed with soiled underwear lying around it, each having the name of one of her ex boyfriends written on.
Makes you think twice about this type of cartoon...

It's usually a bit dicey to analyse humour, but Mike A didn't "get" the Last Anus cartoon, even after I'd explained the double punchline. He gets the others. So I have been looking more closely at Kliban these past few days, because I consider his humour enormously sophisticated, and I wondered if, no offense, Mike wasn't old enough to understand the "Last Anus" panel. Did you see it Joanna? I can append it to the current one.

No, I only just found this page in my wanderings... you should do a "past issues" page.

If I'm still awake when traffic eases, I'll append "Last Anus". Can't keep too many up -- copyright....
