Gifts for the dying
Even though:
he did not know me,
Or recognise me,
I took gifts,
Flowers,
Card,
Potted roses
Plant arrangements,
A new gold watch,
Oasis drink (his favourites)
Biscuits that he liked
His indifference did not dampen my zeal,
Rather it spurred me on:
I sent flowers

Valued this as i really enjoy your poetry.
Found you and Freda !! i have so missed your presence on the poetry board, and selfishly also your feedback which i always valued. i found your myspace, and have started a profile, under ancor103. i can't get my way around htis site very easily, but i guess it will sort itself out.

If I had known he was dying I would have taken a gift
As it was, I took a smile and he was happy with that

It is too late to give them a gift when they are already dead.

True so true.
Perhaps that's what it is. Thanks for this ladyseagull- a simple obvious truth.
How often that which is so plain often eludes me
