Hi and welcome to h2g2 - I am vegiman and have around on site for about a year now. I promise not to upset you by mentioning the red hair - Oooop I just did. If it is the friendly type of people you are looking for - You have found them - This must be one of the most friendly sites on the internet. The natives dont bite.

The site might be running a bit slow at the mo, there are a lot of new people login in as Douglas Adams (DNA) is on a publicity tour. It will speed up when things settle down a bit.

If you want any help just ask and you will find an answer.

The first thing I suggest you do is go to the front page ( http://www.h2g2.com ) and put the 'who is on line link' on your home page.

and find out who is out there at this time.

By refreshing your home page from time to time will allow h2g2 to update it and you can see if anyone has left you a message.

Thanx menza I had problems last night I think my server crashed on me.

I think it was bad for everyone last night. Then it cleared up all of a sudden. Much better now.

Menza, I had to open a new bottle of Vodka 'cos I couldn't find any already opened ones. I took one from the cupboard below the stairs behind the bar. Is that the right batch to use?

OK, OK boys it's me I guess I'm back to being master of the hounds then.

I dont know Demon - are you saying we are sniffer dogs - don't listen to him CRH Girl - he is just a snuglerly puppy like the rest of us

While DNA (Douglas Adams) is broadcasting h2g2 you will find the occasional blip where the site slows and sometimes comes to a halt - I dont think the site can handle more than 5 to 6,000 or so visitors at any one time. It must stop quite a few login on, although almost 3,500 new researchers have logged in over the last week.

I think it grew out a forum somewhere. After the real life meet up when we started talking about alternative personas and whose was who's.
