I add to Greebo's greeting
I do have to admit that I've formed my homepage design around a focus group of aardvark's Since reading your homepage, I think I'm going to get some of my consulting fees back, as they aren't interested
Also, there are a couple of pages set up to help someone new to H2G2 get around.
The ACE page (Assistant Community Editor) has some great links -

Question for you - I've been looking around the site. I am well impressed. H2G2 has got enormous potential for carriage and propagation of information to everyone (knowledge should never be kept - it should be disseminated). However some subjects are popular and quite full of comments. This is going to get a bit tedious to wade through to find out answers to questions.
Are there plans afoot to coalesce/accrete the data into more manageable, easily reference forms? I reckon this would produce a brill' guide for future visitors (to the site and the planet).

Me thinks you are mixing up the actual guide entries and the forums of the various researchers... The accepted guide entries are well written and very informative... they are edited by a dedicated group of people and are usual very consise... though other researches may add there comments to forums added to the bottom of the entry...
Forums are written and maintained by researchers like you and me... and they can be somewhat rambling... usually they go off the subject matter rather quickly... this group of messages that we are writing amongst ourselves here is a forum...
Click on the following link to go to an Accepted Guide Entry... me hopes you will see the difference... and that this has sorted out your concerns... ~grin~

It has become a bit of a tradition at h2g2... to give fellow researchers virtual prezzies... or food or drinks. etc.. ~grin~... most researchers tend to offer me doughnuts... as this is my favourite food... but a glass of milk and a straw goes down quite nicely too... Tis a bit of fun thats all...
