It was announced today that Shel Silverstein died yesterday.
He was a child's story and poem writer. And one of my first favorites.
I can remember reading his stuff to the class in third grade. And
listening to him read his own material on records before that. He
contributed widly to my child hood imagination, and to my strange
sence of humor later on in life. Not to mention the whole writing
poetry of my own thing. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
