Such bright stars on the way home tonight. Orion leading ahead, a shooting star at the gate, the beginning of a frost on the grass and the light on over the back door.

A very different night tonight.
Gusts of wind are slamming rain against the windows, it was dark at 4.00pm and there's not a star in sight. Feet up on the coffee table, Masterchef on the TV, logs ablaze in the stove. It's S who's out tonight, somewhere around Birmingham heading for Crewe on an Intercity. If trains run to time he'll be properly back here on the sofa and beslippered by 10.30.

Don't envy him one bit. I haven't got as far as lighting my real fire yet, I am saving it for the really cold weather 
Such different weather from last year. I wonder what the winter will bring this year?
Hope trains run ok for him.
