Flat batteries: caution and doorbell.

Last Friday, in response to the paperboy, the doorbell gave an utterly pathetically feeble yowl from under a heap of papers on the shelf. I dug it out and answered the door with it in hand. And then... ? It's not answering to the push button at all now and I can't find it to put new batteries in. There was nothing on the box to warn of this drawback to wireless doorbells.
It would help to tidy up a bit - grounding and doorbell finding.

Wazz..could be the batteries in the push that have gone or more likely got damp in them...

I hadn't thought about a battery in the push button! If it's that, I can replace it and listen for the rest of the thing. Still hasn't turned up. Mind you, the tidying I've done was in the fridge - I'm glad it didn't turn up in there.

Pleased to report the doorbell found. Not so pleased to announce a complete failure to remember to buy new batteries. Pleased however that poking about its innards has given the old batteries a new lease of life. Very not pleased to report that Pete-over-the-road whose complaints led to the initial purchase of the doorbell didn't notice its existence until after I'd opened the door to his hammering. Pleased to report he knows of its existence now.
