I thank you as well for your defense of the US. I saw all the negative remarks, and although very timid about such things felt someone
should speak up. Then after my post I wondered if I would get flamed- I appreciated your support.

No problem. This is a venue for describing planet Earth as one perceives it. We have had many good times in the US; most recently in Pittsburgh, where we were fortunate enough to attend the Douglas Adams talk at Carnegie-Melon University.

Douglas Adams gave a talk at CMU. *sigh* That is my alma matter (sp?) It figures they would have someone really cool come and give a talk 2 years after I graduated. smiley - sadface
