Spring has sprung a very nasty practical joke. The weather this anything-but-fine Sunday morning must be an April fool's joke (1 April is traditionally a time for practical jokes: April Fools Day, aka Management Day), not least because this weather prank has been strategically delayed by a couple of days for maximum chuckles. This morning we wake to a blizzard so thick, heavy, white and unwelcome that the old neighbourhood looks like the inside of one of those snow globe paperweights.

The official forecast for today:
'Snow at times heavy mixed with rain. Risk of a thunderstorm early this afternoon. Snowfall amount 5 to 10 cm except 15 cm over higher terrain. Fog patches dissipating this afternoon. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60. High 2.'

Daylight Savings Time is a cheat. I think I'll go to work an hour late tomorrow, just to get my full measure of weekend.
