That's a good book by Geoffrey B. Charlesworth, by the way.
Had a letter to the Editor of the local paper printed yesterday... Scathing stuff about the Chinese occupation of Tibet; and how western governments are more interested in making a buck than in basic human decency. Trite, but true... and poignant if you're being beaten by a Chinese soldier!

You are quite right JtG. All over the world such things are happening. We in western Europe are getting a taste of it in the Balkans. I have heard/read that we humans are just a couple of meals away from the savage.

I know it's a part of the human condition. But I think Tibet is a particularly tragic case.
Nope. Never have. I was on community access TV once... the longest three minutes of my life.
