Hmm... Strange...

Did you notice that the king and the queen's positions are swapped? Hmm... Someone should tell Pastey about it...
Your turn...
BTW, it would be kind if you replied to this forum whenever you move... It's the simplest way for both of us to know when the other has played...
See you,
PP

I didn't notice... But I never remember which way they should be anyway... Your turn!! (At least I think it is... I've got a problem which updating pages and didn't see my move... )
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 10, 2000
Well... I'm positive they should be the other way round... Never mind... It doesn't really matter...
At least I hope so...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 10, 2000
Your turn!! And now I even saw my move... I wonder if this program's starting to act nicely from now on...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 14, 2000
No, it's yours...
I'm confused about the king and the queen now... Is the one with the cross on its head the queen and big crown the king? Or vice versa??...
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 14, 2000
Usually the one with the cross is the king, and the queen's wearing a bigger crown...
Usually the white queen's on a white square and the black queen on a black square, as well...
BTW, so we finally managed to be online at the same time...
Hello... Completely forgot that one...
It should take me a few seconds to play...
How are you today?
In fact, I just played...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 15, 2000
No problem, I already was off-line when you moved... And I probably wouldn't have been able to see your move anyway because I was at home...
I don't have time to make my move right now but I'll be back as soon as I can...
CU!
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 15, 2000
Now it's your turn!
About the king and the queen - I first thought the big crown must be the queen but when I remembered you saying they're wrong way around and I've always had the feeling that the king's the one on the same-coloured square I got all confused... But the cross-headed is the king - OK... *hopes she now actually got it...*
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 16, 2000
OK... Your turn...
Hm... I just realised I can't really play like I wanted to if the king's on *that* side of the board...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 17, 2000
Your turn...
It's really getting difficult to move when by the time it's my turn I've already forgotten the situation and am sure to make stupid moves...
And it sounds bad you saying you can't play the way you wanted... Because that means you have a plan...
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 17, 2000
LOL... OK, you're right, I had a plan... But, first of all, as I said, I can't really play it, and then, it's really hard to remember any plans for so long a time...
We should be online at the same time so we can advance the game a little...
Anyway...
Playing without a plan is reported to always have confused people playing with plans, so I suppose it isn't too bad...
Your turn, can't you tell...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 18, 2000
AAARGH!!!! *willing to kill everyone because h2g2 is so slow*
Anyway, it's your turn now... And it would certainly be nice if we were online at the same time but when would that be? Not when I'm at home because I wouldn't see the moves... But...???
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 18, 2000
Hm... I'm afraid I can't help you with H2G2 being slow...
But the problem of not seeing your moves is easily solved... All you have to do is refresh the page after moving... (if I've guesses the cause of the problem, that is... You're using Netscape, aren't you? And don't ask me how I know... )
As to getting online at the same time... Well, I'm on every day at about 6 English time, but that's only for half an hour or so... During the weekends I can be for longer...
Your turn...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 19, 2000
It gets harder to figure out which move you did every time...
And no, I'm not using Netscape... (At least not here, at school I am but there's no problem with it...) And refreshing doesn't do any good - wish it was that easy... I just don't know what to do...
I could be online at 6 your time... (Just have to find out what it's exactly in my time... ) But it would be at home then... (And I shouldn't be here more than half an hour at a time either (even on weekends) because of the phone bills but it always gets longer... ) For me it would be the best if I was at school, but it would be about 9am your time... Hmm... What to do??
Your turn anyway...
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 19, 2000
You're right, it's hard to realise what's changed by now...
Perhaps we should start giving the move in this forum...
Hm... I only had problems with the moves not appearing when using Netscape... IE behaved well enough... Hm... Strange...
What is your time, anyway? Just wondering... English is not my time, either, I just said so because I thought it was most probable you were in England...
Your turn...
Hmm... Strange...
Alien Posted May 19, 2000
I've moved... And WOW!! It updated!! You should've been here now... It was the horse btw...
And it is strange... Very strange indeed... It first happened after h2g2 was down for some time during the move or whatever they did... No one else seems to have this problem, though...
I'm in Finland and my time's +2 hours GMT... I believe... Where & when are you??
Hmm... Strange...
Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-)) Posted May 21, 2000
OK... We're in trouble...
What I mean is this...
I wanted to do a castling... And now it sort of moved my king by two squares without moving the rook... Oops...
Now what?
I'm at GMT+1:00, BTW... I live in Germany, though I'm *no German*, and I don't like being mistaken for one, so take care...
