Did you notice that the king and the queen's positions are swapped? Hmm... Someone should tell Pastey about it... smiley - smiley

Your turn... smiley - smiley

BTW, it would be kind if you replied to this forum whenever you move... It's the simplest way for both of us to know when the other has played... smiley - smiley

See you,

PP

Well... I'm positive they should be the other way round... smiley - smiley Never mind... smiley - smiley It doesn't really matter...

At least I hope so... smiley - smiley

No, it's yours... smiley - smiley
I'm confused about the king and the queen now... Is the one with the cross on its head the queen and big crown the king? Or vice versa??...

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

Usually the one with the cross is the king, and the queen's wearing a bigger crown... smiley - smiley

Usually the white queen's on a white square and the black queen on a black square, as well... smiley - smiley

BTW, so we finally managed to be online at the same time... smiley - smiley

Hello... Completely forgot that one... smiley - smiley

It should take me a few seconds to play... smiley - smiley

How are you today? smiley - smiley

In fact, I just played... smiley - smiley

No problem, I already was off-line when you moved... And I probably wouldn't have been able to see your move anyway because I was at home... smiley - sadface

I don't have time to make my move right now but I'll be back as soon as I can...

Now it's your turn! smiley - smiley

About the king and the queen - I first thought the big crown must be the queen but when I remembered you saying they're wrong way around and I've always had the feeling that the king's the one on the same-coloured square I got all confused... But the cross-headed is the king - OK... *hopes she now actually got it...* smiley - smiley

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

OK... Your turn... smiley - smiley

Hm... I just realised I can't really play like I wanted to if the king's on *that* side of the board... smiley - winkeye

Your turn... smiley - smiley

It's really getting difficult to move when by the time it's my turn I've already forgotten the situation and am sure to make stupid moves... smiley - sadfacesmiley - smiley

And it sounds bad you saying you can't play the way you wanted... Because that means you have a plan... smiley - winkeye

Hmm... Strange...

Post 14

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

LOL... OK, you're right, I had a plan... But, first of all, as I said, I can't really play it, and then, it's really hard to remember any plans for so long a time... smiley - winkeye

We should be online at the same time so we can advance the game a little...

Anyway...

Playing without a plan is reported to always have confused people playing with plans, so I suppose it isn't too bad... smiley - winkeye

Your turn, can't you tell... smiley - winkeye

AAARGH!!!! *willing to kill everyone because h2g2 is so slow*

Anyway, it's your turn now... And it would certainly be nice if we were online at the same time but when would that be? Not when I'm at home because I wouldn't see the moves... smiley - sadface But...???

Hmm... Strange...

Post 16

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

Hm... I'm afraid I can't help you with H2G2 being slow... smiley - winkeye

But the problem of not seeing your moves is easily solved... smiley - smiley All you have to do is refresh the page after moving... (if I've guesses the cause of the problem, that is... smiley - winkeye You're using Netscape, aren't you? smiley - smiley And don't ask me how I know... smiley - smiley)

As to getting online at the same time... Well, I'm on every day at about 6 English time, but that's only for half an hour or so... During the weekends I can be for longer... smiley - smiley

Your turn... smiley - smiley

Hmm... Strange...

Post 17

Alien

It gets harder to figure out which move you did every time... smiley - smiley

And no, I'm not using Netscape... (At least not here, at school I am but there's no problem with it...) And refreshing doesn't do any good - wish it was that easy... smiley - sadface I just don't know what to do... smiley - sadface

I could be online at 6 your time... (Just have to find out what it's exactly in my time... smiley - smiley ) But it would be at home then... smiley - sadface (And I shouldn't be here more than half an hour at a time either (even on weekends) because of the phone bills but it always gets longer... smiley - smiley ) For me it would be the best if I was at school, but it would be about 9am your time... Hmm... What to do??

Your turn anyway... smiley - smiley

Post 18

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

You're right, it's hard to realise what's changed by now... smiley - smiley

Perhaps we should start giving the move in this forum... smiley - smiley

Hm... I only had problems with the moves not appearing when using Netscape... IE behaved well enough... Hm... Strange...

What is your time, anyway? Just wondering... smiley - winkeye English is not my time, either, I just said so because I thought it was most probable you were in England... smiley - smiley

Your turn... smiley - smiley

I've moved... And WOW!! It updated!! You should've been here now... smiley - winkeye It was the horse btw... smiley - smiley

And it is strange... Very strange indeed... It first happened after h2g2 was down for some time during the move or whatever they did... smiley - sadface No one else seems to have this problem, though...

I'm in Finland and my time's +2 hours GMT... I believe... Where & when are you?? smiley - smiley

Hmm... Strange...

Paul Prefect (It's been 2 years now... wow... 8-))

OK... We're in trouble... smiley - winkeye

What I mean is this...

I wanted to do a castling... And now it sort of moved my king by two squares without moving the rook... smiley - winkeye Oops... smiley - winkeye

Now what? smiley - smiley

I'm at GMT+1:00, BTW... I live in Germany, though I'm *no German*, and I don't like being mistaken for one, so take care... smiley - winkeyesmiley - smiley
