Wow!
Enjoyed the read about "Kings Sutton"!
Quite interesting these little villages, but what I found most intriguing was the dilapidated "stocks". And your reaction to their condition.
Am I wrong, or do I get a sense you would prefer the stocks in 'working' condition? 
I can imagine the poor sod, stuck in such a device (bad for the spine, as well as the ego 
)
Tell me, has it ever been a documented case of someone actually 'enjoying' such a 'behavior modification' tool? 
Just wondering

well, I personally feel that ASBOs are a waste of time, a good 12 hours in the stocks for anti-social behaviour!
Unless of course you like that kind of thing
