Just returned from the YES Masterworks concert! I was in TEARS!! They played only the classics!!
1: ALL of Close to the Edge!!
2: Starship Trouper
3: The Gates of Delirium
4: the beginning of The Ancient Giants Under the Sun
5: RITUAL, NOUS SOMMES DU SOLEIL!!!!!!!
6: Your Move, All Good People
7: Roundabout
I was ecstatic!!! Yes is my all-time favorite group, and it may be the last time they ever tour. I wish Rick Wakeman was there, but Tony Kaye wailed on the keyboards. Alan White played drums and Steve Howe kicked ass, as did Chris Squire. Jon Anderson's voice was as sweet and clear as ever, and the band played so tightly that you'd never guess they hadn't been playing some of those songs for YEARS!!
The highlight was in Ritual, when they all joined in on the drum solo, each member playing some sort of drum, with some other guy ?? on the kettle drums. It was incredible!! I will never forget it as long as I live!! Go see the show if they play near you!!!

I am so happy for you, cloughie. And so envious. Did Jon play the harp? Did Chris play his triple-neck bass? They played ALL of Close to the Edge? *alicat is as green as her eyes, with envy.

No, and no. But they played ALL of Close to the Edge!! Steve Howe played slide guitar for the cool part of Starship Trooper, but other than that it was pretty straight forward, except for the AWESOME percussion bit. Too bad they're not playing anywhere else close this year - Boston and Hartford, CT this weekend, but that's it. They had a DVD (and VHS) of last year's Ladder tour, but I'm waiting for one of this tour. I can't believe I was actually crying with joy, the Topographic Oceans songs brought back a lot of memories. I still try to listen to that album once a month, but to see it live was incredible!! Ok, I've got to get on with my h2g2 business. See you 'round the forums!!! (you Angel you)

I've been travelling around the Angel circuit and winding up in the same forums from different links. Do you do the new researcher welcomes?
A friend of mine gave me a copy of the last Yes tour. They didn't do the same songs that you saw. I hid the copy away when I was in a poorer state of mind. I wanted to watch it after I heard about your wonderful night.
