I heard that there are African women with AIDS making up boxes for their children so that after they have died their children will have something to remember them by. Has anyone else heard of this?

Sorry, I've not heard that.
I watched a programme which showed kids in an African orphanage making coffins for their friends who were dying from Aids.
Very sad

The very dark text is not readable in goo.
I haven't heard of diaries or memory boxes specifically in context of African mothers with AIDS but it wouldn't surprise me. It's a natural impulse for terminal patients to try to preserve something of themselves, especially if they have children.

I'll change the text colour. They are shoeboxes. I started doing that myself a couple of years ago. Not a shoebox, but a diary. Things I thought my children might like to read when I'm not here any longer. I'm sure loads of people do that.
