How can i ?
Nonametraveller Started conversation Apr 4, 2000
Well this is a bit sad...here i am visiting my own homepage!!,well it doesn't look as if any one else will be so i am just cheering myself up.Actually though the real reason that i am here is because i cannot find a way to enter a journal. My page seems to be clogged up with taunting nonsense from, I can only presume the editor or one of his or her minnions. In addition to that there is absolutely nothing for me to click on except register,my home or this route that i have been forced to take...talking to myself.I type in the hope that one of you mischievious monkeys will hear my plea and be so kind as to return the journal buttons to my page or whatever i need to write and then click.Furthermore i need to inform you that i have a living to make and i don't have all the time in the world.I will be contributing to this guide, well,i will be trying to do so,however some of my efforts may take a little time due to circumstance.
In the event that i am the moron and have not seen the obvious, then do be a sweetie and forgive me.

... I am Crescent, an ACE, I was passing and I heard your cry for help What exactly are you having trouble with? i take it you clicked 'Add Journal Entry' - sorry for the patronising questions, but in Tech Support you have to cover all bases

Hey Crescent,Ace,
Thanks for the the interest.Everthing is cool now but for a while back there there was nothing to click on except My home and log out,no journal add on or anything else, i thought some one was being 'funny'.The only option i had was to answer my own homepage introduction which i did,and with that all was somehow restored. Thanks again though for your reply,i am happy to know that i am not just writing into a machine or thin air.Are you an ace in computers? If so i will probably be needing advice down the road sometime as i am virtually a novice, would you mind?.
Be cool

In RLF I have done tech support and am, at the mo', a sys admin, so I can blag my way through most stuff, and know where to go for the hard stuff So if you have any questions, just ask them, I will do what I can to help Until later.....

Hey Crescent,
Thanks for the mail,i surely will come to you when i need help.I have a few questions to start with;
1)what is RLF
2)What do you mean by Hardstuff (lol...sounds interesting)
3)You sound as if you come from London or thereabouts...do you?
4) although i have only just seen your mail to me i see that you replied virtually immediately after i posted mine. Are you sitting there watching what people write as they write it.
Again i thank you for your mail, although i don't know much about computers may i reciprocate by inviting you to ask any questions you may have, maybe you'll get lucky and ask me something i know...lol
Until Later

Hi NoNametraveller.
Saw you poppong by the ACEs page. As for quick responses those of us who hang around here a lot are constantly pressing the refresh button on our lists of forums inthe evenings and lunchtime some of these can move incredibly fast and some of us just don't want to miss anything.
Your list of forums will either say no reply or last reply ?? Time ago, so if there's a reply that's something you haven't read and may even have be posted at teh same time, which makes some conversations a bit confusing.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but a load of ancient threads I was part of came back to life and pushed this off the bottem Ok too your questions - hoping that they havn't been answered yet Ok
1. RLF means Real Life (or at least I hope it does
2. Hard stuff is tech support bits and bobs which I cannot answer, or work out, from the top of my head, and actually have to go looking for the answer
3. I am living in Aberdeen, UK at the mo' but have lived in lots of different places
4. I do not see people type, but I must of just updated my homepage after you had finished, so it told me I had a reply. I just clicked the link and answered away
Hope this helps. If I have any questions I will ask So until later...

Fairly extensively Crescent.I have worked in many european countries from Denmark down to Spain and Holland through to Poland. The Middle East and North Africa and in various other countries down here in southern africa.I was also fortunate enough to spend quite a few months in the far east in particular Singapore which i thoroughly enjoyed. However i am now firmly entrenched here in SA,It is true to say that Africa definately gets into your blood.I sometimes miss dear old London Town but every time i go there it does'nt take long before i am ready to return to the sun.I guess i should write about some of my experiences....i wonder if people would believe any of it...lol.Anyway i am out of time right now...speak to you again. In fact when i come back on i will check out your homepage and say Hi.Till then.
Hey Demon Drawer,
Jeez man...what a home page you got!!i am out of time but i will be checking you out again soon..i'm impressed...figure i can learn plenty there.
Cheers dude

Don't feel bad.....What am I talking about? I feel the same way as you do. I've been staring at this site for a couple of days and can't figure out how to do any thing. Nor can I figure out how to NOT feel like I'm talking to myself! Oh well.....I can't help you, but, know you're not alone.
How i can?

It's too late to be too witty,
but I had to take pitty
on one so alone
with no one to phone,
etc., etc.,
I am curious however.....especially about living & working in Africa. I am a single mom with a 12 yr. old son from Canby, Oregon, U.S.A., looking to teach (K-8) in some remote area for 1-2 years.....do you have any insight into my dilema? I crave adventure and life for myself and my son. I am hungry for Africa, but am afraid I'm particulary blinded by my own romantic visions. I've recently read "The Poisonwood Bible," and seen "I Dreamed of Africa," and still am enthralled. Any advice lonely heart?
