i lived there for 3 years and know exactly what you mean. i was there at the cumbria college of art and design. i was my first choice! i dont know why. the town is inbred and lack the mental capacity of a sheep, a local animal who they have long term relationships with. the italian restuaurant ( then is was called Mammas, now called Frankos) is crap but does cheap meals. the shopping centre, the lanes, is as about as good as an indoor market in oldham and the old fart who sells the local rag who shouts, "crocadile shoes, carlile for the world cup!' is pricless!!
