Hi and <./>welcome</.> to h2g2!

This place might appear to be a bit overwhelming at first look - to find out what it's all about, I recommend taking the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> when you have the time.

A quick and easy way to see what's going on right now is checking the h2g2 <./>FrontPage</.>. It's updated each weekday and contains links to interesting articles as well as conversations.

Feisor has created a page with links and tips that you might find useful: A719840.

If you have any questions about h2g2, just ask - we <./>ACEs</.> are here to help! You'll find the most commonly asked questions (and answers) at <./>DontPanic-FAQ</.>.

Have fun exploring!

Oh, and I saw you had posted on your own user page, and in your journal - you might not get much response unless someone comes across your user page.

If you're looking for people to talk to, I recommend trying <./>MiscChat</.> or, if you have a specific question, <./>Askh2g2</.>

I have some difficulty reading all information on the page ,because my speed is very slow.Sometimes i think it would be great if the words were written in Chinese.could u give me some tips on improving my English?I think it will take quite a time before i can express myself fluently.I will try my best anyway.

Well, something I've found has helped me improve my English (it's a foreign language to me too) is reading a lot, mostly novels.

The advantage with novels, as I see it, is that you can often guess the meaning of a word from the way it's used in a sentence - that way you don't have to use a dictionary all the time!smiley - smiley

I've read all the Harry Potter books except for the last one in English - books written for children often have less 'complicated' English in them, so I think they're a good way to get started with reading English texts.
