What the.........?
MadMunk?¿ Posted Apr 7, 2001
Awwww, I feel left out. I need to go and find myself a strange partner, so I can feel part of the group again *grin*.
Damn, everyone's too normal in the real world! Where have all the nutters gone?!?!
What the.........?
shazzPRME Posted Apr 8, 2001
Hiding on h2g2 perhaps? LOL
I know what you mean MM!!
It used to be I could never travel on public transport without having a nutter come and sit next to me!
Ahhh... those were the days!
I probably still attract the nutters, but can't understand what they're saying as they speak Double Dutch at me! ROFL

MadMunk?¿ Posted Apr 9, 2001
Heheheh, yeah, well, h2g2 does seem to attract a lot of them
Give them all back, damnit!
Yeah, public transport these days is so tame...... *grin*
Hehehehe, double dutch isn't so hard when they're already half way there
:D

shazzPRME Posted Apr 9, 2001
ROFL!
So true MM
So true!
At least you always know where to find Monsy and I and our peculiar bedfellows! LOL
Are you going to try and actually make it to the next meet btw? Sometime in May I believe!

Next meet?... Hm...... Nah....... I think I'm a bit too out of touch with h2g2 these days... sooooo many names I don't recognise

<-- completely randomly enters conversation without any readily apparent reason -->
Isn't this at least the third time you've 'left' h2g2 for good, MadMunk?
It seems thart every few months I am surprised to see your good self re-appear and give it all up for good...
Hell, there are always names I don't recognise on h2g2, and it never puts me off. I just carry on in my own little world, not really knowing anyone, but vaguely recollecting many!
What the.........?
MadMunk?¿ Posted Apr 12, 2001
And speaking of names i know..... Hiya Mr T, hows the band going?
Actualy, no.... the other times were conditional.....
First time was "I've gotta go... can't afford the time online"
second was "I've seriously got work to do, and getting bored of the site".... and third time was "last straw, h2g2 sucks complete horses *ahem*", but shazz and monsy convinced me to stay, even though I've restricted myself to this one little thread
*grin*.
Yeah, well, I wander around in my own personal world all the time, so I s'pose it wouldn't be any different on here

Band-wise it's going "super great". I'm in TWO bands... both with the same members!
Our bass player has now become a researcher (Comrade Rumble) and we've set up some straight edge pages along with Sea, which are already surprisingly active.
The reason I'm really happy, however, is that we've been recording an album this easter break! We're about two thirds of the way through it, and it's been great fun to do. --> If anyone wants an MP3 of one of the songs, let me know. <-- plug
And don't worry... we all thought perhaps h2g2 now sucks, but it quite obviously doesn't. As long as you stick to the 'rulez', that is.
How's your band doing?
What the.........?
MadMunk?¿ Posted Apr 13, 2001
Erm..... my band split about 6 months ago Loooong story. Well, not really, but I can't be bothered to repeat it for the 6x10^99th time.
Erm...... 2 bands.... with same people.............................
Why am I confused?
I'll have an mp3!
I still think h2g2 sucks............. but then I'm very resistant to change.

We're two bands because we play two different styles.
The Pregnants play pseudo-experimental punk, influenced by a range of styles from Fugazi and Minor Threat to NOFX, Pixies and the Sex Pistols... (what we call 'punk moc')
Whereas Poota play obscure comedy funk, usually with acoustic guitar and plenty of cowbells, influenced largely by PUSA (and their frontman's spin-off, the Giraffes) and Weezer... funk moc!
When I first returned (a little early, as I'm a volunteer), I thought perhaps h2g2 sucked.
But then I thought, well, these new rules certainly suck, but the good far outweighs the bad. If we didn't know how much relative freedom we appeared to have before, I don't think we'd mind so much. The no pictures thing is a b****r, but that's not REALLY a problem community or guide-entry wise. The only two things I'm genuinely distressed about are the no-election and no foreign language rules - but I understand why they're in place, so I'll abide by them. As the old (new) saying goes, "there's no such thing as a free really good online community based around a concept created by Douglas Adams", so I'm prepared to put up with some moderation etc. for the free use of h2g2.
I don't like change either. They're OPAL FRUITS! I don't care WHAT the packets say.

Look, their starburst now, accept it! There were adverts and everything!
But Cif? What the hell is Cif? You don't have a Ciffy lemon do you? No, its a damn Jiffy lemon!
Argh, I automatically avoid reading any sentence containing the name NOFX. I just have this sorta despise them .
I started getting bored of the site a loooooonggg time before the BBC thing anyways.... I quited the ACEs, and for all intents and purposes left.... only kept a few threads running, with friends.
Its just not as fun as it once was....

Fun? You come here for FUN?! This is a serious BBC research project, young man! Suites and ties must be worn at all times - and no spitting. (It spreads TB).
Yes, I was going to bring up the "Cif" thing...
I've always suspected that Jif pseudo-Lemon and Jif Toilet Cleaner are one and the same product, but I've not had cause to ingest either on a regular basis (thank God).

nah..... not fun anymore............
No, I wouldn't recommend finding out the difference by internal comparison......
