That is one of the best thing about H2G2 - the people! I apologize for not having stopped by to say hello sooner - work has had me more swamped than I like! Well - a week late, but no time like the present - welcome to the community! If there is anything that I can do for you, just let me know!

there is no problem with being late...i always say 'better late than never' and i always enjoy meeting new friends no matter how long it takes
i must warn you that i do love to find out about everyone so you will have to pardon me for asking this but....
tell me a bit about yourself, how long have you been here and what is out there that i might not be aware of yet?

I never mind talking about myself - as long as I get to tell the good stuff and mix in other things.
I've been on H2G2 for just over 6 months now - in some ways it feels much longer, I've just made so many friends and learned so much! I am a founding member of the Church of the True Brownie (Check us out at http://www.h2g2.com/a193754 , and by the way, Archbishop Marv the Grate sends his greetings as well )which is a lovely little group of folks. I am also currectly running an experimental on-line RPG with several members of the community, which is going quite nicely. Also, I get the joy of being an ACE, which is a great thing indeed - even if work has taken up too much of my time the past week for me to do any effective greeting.
That's about all I can think of right now. Tell me about yourself. You are enjoying yourself, obviously, but is there anything in particular that you are enjoying or have questions on? (I fear that I, too, enjoy learning about people. )

i really must go over and take a look at the church of the true brownie as i love a good brownie .
an ace?, what is an ace, what do they do exactly?
i am quite enjoying myself so far, everyone has been very friendly and helpful. i do hope that some of the visitors begin leaving questions for me to answer which i can use for my section of the Post. speaking of the Post, it is amazing how many people do not know about it. i figured everyone had heard about the Post but since joining i have run into quite a few who do not know it is there. i wonder if there is something we can do to promote it a bit more as it really is a great read, at least i think so .

I'm glad to hear that you are so happy here! And I agree that we should spread word of the Post far and wide. I thought that it would get better now that its listed on the Front Page, but it seems that not enough people are reading that when they log on. I know that several folks have it mentioned on their pages, too. Maybe, if the Post sponsored a contest of somekind...
An ACE is an Assistant Community Editor. We are Peta's assistants who get the joy of greeting all the new folks who come to H2G2. It is one of my true joys to introduce folks to this wonderful community!

it sounds like the aces are a great group ...i admit that it is nice to have someone 'pop' in and say hello when you don't really know anyone it kind of makes you feel a bit more comfortable and at home
i think a Post sponsered contest is a great idea! i wonder if i can speak with Pastey and Shazz about it? i will have to try to catch them sometime or possibly email them
