*Joanna shudders at the mere thought of clothes shopping anywhere other than h&m..*
Don't change it, BB.... don't...retail therapy is a lie. This is the conclusion I've come to. But I can't find a second hand book shop in Durham....

Jumble sales, charity shops and the wonderful thing known as HMV for t-shirts, and an occasional catelogue for a pair of trousers. A lot less stressful. And you can get what you want without having to be bothered by sales assistants, queues and other rubbish.

No second-hand books shops?????
That's terrible - I'd NEVER live without second hand books shops - I know of 4 in Southampton, and several good charity shops that stock them too, not to mention Monday's book fair... Books are too much a part of life for there to be no book shops.
I feel for you.

Ah to be able to do that. I do prefer to try things on before buying them, so going through the hassles of shopping for clothes is something I endure.

I guess there must be some... just not where I've looked... there are good ones in Manchester, though, so I'm not completely 2nd hand bookshop deprived. And I've identified which is the more competant Waterstone's on Saddler Street in Durham, so all is not completely lost.

That's always a good start. H2G2 has inspired to me to look at more local history books - I'd like to know more about the History of Southampton. It seems a very interesting place, with the Bargate and all.
