(P.T. Barnum)
The masses can't resist a cheap laugh. *stands on high moral ground* But I was one of the ones who said he was an incredible guitar player. Because I get my cheap laughs elsewhere

Likewise
I remember me and monsy were the first to vote here, it gave the 'god' bit an early boost .

Hey, just what we were needing, a quiet thread for uninstant messaging
I started some prime gnarl last night, but flaked out before finishing. Veronica will be over this afternoon and Shirley & dog will be here shortly, so I'm taking advantage of the lull to attend to threads. Have you got plans for the weekend?

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 13, 2000
Well, I'll be spending most of the weekend out of doors with friends. I'm going to get Jonesey registered with h2g2 this evening. He'll be writing stuff about Plymouth, yeah...
Do tell us what the dogs do, I bet it'll be a laugh

Cool! Jones is the literate one, right?
It's getting up to 90 Fahrenheit and the lovebugs are just AWFUL so I have no desire whatever to be outside. I think we'll even order in pizza. I would love to go see Gladiator but my back won't let me sit still that long. Maybe next week -- it's getting rave reviews -- stars Russell Crowe, the New Zealand actor.

Jones is registering tomorrow. He's got the email (after h2g2 recovered from the Love Bug), he just needs a quiet two hours.
Plymouth has been well hot for a while, it's really annoying. Bring back winter. My face has a slightly red tinge to it now
Who's Gladiator?

Just using bad back as an excuse to sit here and check up on things while Veronica is reading zines. Gladiator is title of new movie that's just come out, about a gladiator named Maximus (Russell Crowe) and the movie looks like doing for him what Braveheart did for Mel Gibson. Lots of blood and fighting and people getting eaten by tigers, and, we hear, computer reconstruction of the ancient city of Rome.
RENT BARON MUNCHHAUSEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

S**T! I forgot again. Too concerned with trying to keep out of the house.
Spent half an hour with a few friends digging up Ed Hunter's front garden...was that eager to get my mind off things. Manual unwaged labour
Gladiator reminds me of Sparticus...saw about 45mins of that in a latin lesson.

Things is good. Had a walk up on Bodmin Moor, which is some 20 miles away from Plymouth, in Cornwall. Saw some Bronze Age rocks.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 14, 2000
Cool. The Bronze Age is when the Bog People date back to, I think. Have you been to Tintagel?
Never Over-Estimate the Public
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 14, 2000
Tintagel is reputed to be the site of King Arthur's birthplace. It's on the north coast of Cornwall. Within reach of Bristol. The ruined castle is so ruined that it's not really there anymore, but the site is really really beautiful. They have been doing archaeological excavations there and the castle dates to something like 700 or 800 AD. I mean C.E., Common Era.
The rest of the town is King Arthur Car Park and King Arthur Gift Shoppe and King Arthur Tea Room etc. etc. etc.
*is curious to know what Mike A thinks about latest email-full of Prime Gnarl*

^H, that was one gnarly message! Still getting my head round it, though I'm not sure if I've actually got any questions -yet-.
North Cornwall eh...I'd have a lot of car-sickness getting there!
I hate Cornish roads.

Probably time to start summarising and pulling themes together. Bring the main points into focus. Later today I'll create a file called chart.zip, which will be a compressed text file of all that I've said about the chart. I assume you know how to extract a zip? Then you'll have everything in one document.
So Cornish roads haven't changed much, huh? I thought there was one main feeder road along the north coast, from Bristol.

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 14, 2000
I think there's a big road, yeah. That sounds right.
I got the zip. Yeah, I think I can unzip it *^_^*
So, we getting to the end of explaining charts?
Never Over-Estimate the Public
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 14, 2000
Yes! And no. There are dynamic things one does with charts: Imagine if you had an analog clock (one with hands) and that you could spin them forward to 3 hours from now and see what was going to happen then? Well, it ain't as fatalistic as that, but you can spin charts forward and get a feel for how possibilities bloom.
I think, however, that you have entirely as much data as you can handle. Otherwise you would be asking questions. That won't happen until you've got your brain wrapped around it (image of boa constrictor swallowing a Very Large Animal).
It's raining! Hurray!

It's like, I read it and understand it. I figure what potential there is in thee, what these stars have to do with me. And since I understand it, there's not much I can say. It's a bit anticlimatic, but methinks it's better than me misunderstanding it
Hasn't rained here for, oooh, two days *^_^*
But before we had those two wet days, we'd had a week of baking sunshine. Roll on september...
