h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, maybe "wow" wasn't the right word... I've been reading over the whole moderation debate and I beleive that it may not be full-blown censorship but it sure is censorship nonetheless. When I originally joined H2G2, which was about a year ago, I was told by many people and aces that it was the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Earth". Since I never read the books or so the BBC television shows (even though I have them on video) people tried to explain this whole hitchikers guide thingy deal. They basically told me that I it is a collection of data about the earth and it's populus. So people could write articles about where they lived or about certain foods or even about their veiws on Satan and God. I said "SWEET!" and I have sort of been using this as an online journal ever since; I have basically chronicalled the last year of my life on here. Awhile back someone actually visited my page and took offence to it because I liked wrestling and because I had written an entry that said F..K a couple of times. Needless to say I got in major s..t, even though the person was just some jerk who had completely biased views against wrestling, teenagers, and well apparently society. I eventually won (if you could call it winning -pengy) the whole battle and made quite a few friends in the process, I also wrote alot of entries and articles that dealt with censorship and society.

But anyways... (man he went on a tangent! -pengy) what i'm trying to say is that censorship for a page like H2G2 is total contradiction of what it stood for. H2G2 was supposed to be a guide to the earth, yet the people who run it will only allow the happy-go-lucky entries. The entries that wont offend someone. The political correct entries. Well, that is total b......t! to put it blunty!

You see, I believe in self-censorship, if your going to swear in your entries than f.....g blank them out! (perfect example eh? -pengy). If you goto a page which maynot appeal to you or might offend you than leave! you dont have to stay there! Nobody is forcing you to !READ! what is written! and hey, if you are going to have some questionable content in your entries on your site, put up a warning or a disclaimer or something! Tell people that they may not like what is written on your page!

But right now what's bugging me is that my short stories are being reviewed! And I know that one of them is going to have some trouble getting through 'cause it deals with some questionable content. But just let it slide! It is an original work of literature by ME! It was not plagerised, yes it has some swearing but it lends itself to the story, and yes it may have religous overtones, but it is a work of literature. But anyways, im getting tired, it's late and ive got to get up in 7 hours to fly to Kelwona.

Oh yah, since i Do you use this page as a psuedo-journal, if you don't want a taste of reality, then please leave. If you cannot accept society and all its tendincies, if you cannot or donot understand human nature, and well if you just don't like onions, please, please, just leave and go to some waterdowned, disney-esque, perfect human, entries. Thank you for your time...
