Your Entry: Paragliding - sub-ed calling

Hi Hoovooloo.
I'll be your sub-editor for this Entry, the first of yours that I've done I think. The edited version is at A87763008, so if you want to pop over there and subscribe that'd be good
I've made a small number of changes to your original entry, mainly:
a) adding links to other h2g2 Entries (including your own helmet camera Entry) and to a couple of external sites, and
b) adding some footnotes for non-flying readers.
Hope you approve, but if there's anything you are not happy with, get back to me here. Otherwise let me know anyway that it's ok so I can return it to the Eds.
Thanks

Looks perfectly good to me.
My only comment would be: do you really think footnote 4 is needed? Perhaps if you think the term is a little "jargon"-y, you could just put quotes around it in the body text, as in
}} some pilots like to push themselves with "acro" flying, looping and tumbling...{{
Using a footnote to tell someone that "acro" is short for "acrobatic" seems, I dunno, a bit patronising and a statement of what I would have considered obvious. Just my opinion.
Other than that one thing though - great! Thanks!

One of the problems in getting heavily involved with something is that the terminology becomes second nature. 'Acro' rather than 'acrobatic' would certainly be the right word in flying circles, but I don't believe the footnote will sound at all patronising to non-flyers; putting quotes around it wouldn't make the meaning any clearer.
It's your Entry so if you do want it taken out, please say so. Otherwise I'll return it to the Eds in a day or so. Thanks for contributing to the Guide and look forward to seeing it on the Front Page soon.

If I was writing an entry on snowboarding and I mentioned jibbing, I'd footnote it. There's no way any reasonable non-boarder would be able to look at that word and infer from it that it meant jumping on, off or over obstacles.
Whereas I think any native English speaker could look at the word "acro" and immediately correctly infer it's a contraction of acrobatic, particularly if in context the very next phrase refers to looping and tumbling. (Just out of interest - did you have to look it up?)
This is just my opinion.
If as a general reader you consider explication necessary, I respect your editorial opinion. I'm not precious about this stuff.
Cheers!

Ok I've removed the footnote. It didn't get mentioned in PR so I guess everybody worked it out.
Entry returned to Eds.
