BB, sorry about the delay in replying. We've been in France for a couple of weeks.

I've added a footnote about the Albigensians to A87904010. I don't want to get involved in details because the story is quite complicated!

I can go and get some photos of Lewes castle, but it has, of course, changed over time.

Thanks for the footnote - yes, we only need a brief explanation and not the details of the Albigensian Crusade and Cathars' beliefs as that would be a whole new entry and not directly relevant to this story.

Incidentally I've just started reading a set in this era, 'The Outlaw of Torn' by Edgar Rice Burroughs – but it isn't attempting to be particularly historically accurate.
